This is a class of two halves; yin & yang. You can’t have one without the other, yin can be seen as cool, slow and inner; yang is warmer, quicker, outer. As life is a balancing act so can be your yoga practice. We can practice all styles in both yin and yang ways but in this class I am aiming to create both light and darkness with a little shade thrown in.

For the first hour we take a yin style approach, tuning in to the body & mind by practicing breath awareness and holding poses for up to five minutes. The pace of the class is meditative and slow and geared towards opening and acceptance of ourselves while also physically working deep into the fascia, the connective tissue in the body.

After we have increased blood flow to muscle, juiced up our joints, stimulated energy channels and concentrated our minds we turn our focus to a more yang style Ashtanga class.
